After School Programs

The Boys and Girls Club offers a variety of fun, safe and interactive programs during the after school hours for children and youth 6 - 17 years of age.

Leadership Development:

Torch Club:  Ages 10 - 13 years.  Hours: 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm.  Thursdays from October 13, 2016 - May 25, 2017.  

A Leadership Club which focuses on 5 core elements: service to club and community, teamwork, healthy choices, leadership and learning for life. Personal awareness and self-confidence will be developed in a supportive team environment through activities and projects at the club and community with possibilities to attend regional and national conferences. Keystone Club:  Ages 14 - 18 years.  Hours.  4:00 pm - 5:00 pm.  Wednesdays from October 12, 2016 - May 24, 2017.

Other Programs:

Native Friendship Club: Ages 6 - 17 years.   Hours:  4:30 pm - 5:30  pm.    Mondays from October 17, 2016 -  May 15, 2017   Cost: $20.

This program provides opportunities for children to participate in a program that is specifically designed to explore and experience the native culture, traditions and spirituality.    For more information contact: Justin Wieclaw 780-352-4643 ext. 38.

Breaking Bannock - Aboriginal Cooking Program:  Ages 13 - 18 years.  Hours:  4:00 pm - 5:30 pm.  Tuesdays from October 4, 2016 - November 22, 2016.  No program fee.

Young Chefs Cooking Program:  Ages 8 - 12 years.  Wednesdays from October 5, 2016 - November 23, 2016.  Program fee: $50.   Youth will learn basic culinary skills while reading recipes and working in a team atmosphere. The program also encourages healthy eating and to help to understand food groups and serving sizes.  

Tower Garden:  Ages 8 - 12 years.  Hours:  4:00 pm - 5:00 pm.  Fridays from September 23, 2016 - November 25, 2016.  Program fee: $20.  No programs on October 7th and November 11th.

Junior Rogers Raising the Grade:  After school academic program for 10 - 12 years.  Tuesdays, from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm.  No program fee.

Assets in Youth:

The program assists youth in developing skills to reduce personal stress and problems they may be experiencing. An outreach component is implemented in order to address and reduce youth related issues within the community and to connect with youth in their natural environments.
